Now that dissent isn't welcomed by the current administration, and the liberties that we used to enjoy aren't enforced by Congress this is probably the last opinion blog that I will be writing for a while. President Trump won the election, fair-and-square. We are getting the government that the majority of voters wanted... Perhaps the government that we deserve. There is nothing that I can say, anyway, that will change the minds of President Trump's supporters. As a proud American, all that I can do is let the cards play out. Either Trump will turn out to be the greatest President in history or the worst. Unless President Trump's supporters stop supporting him... nothing will change. Deportations of legal residents, high tariffs, high inflation, low economic growth, and high interest rates all may come from President Trump's messages on X and *Truth Social* and how government administrators and the voters deal with them. Personally, as a white, male, natural born citizen; I stand to benefit from some of President Trumps ideas.
2026 at the Juliens We are off to a great start in 2026..Bonnie is working on her book art projects and attending Zoom workshops several times a month. Howard is busy with Rotary and has been participating quite successfully in art fairs and events on Bainbridge Island. Last year (2025) was a rough one. Bonnie was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She underwent 12 weeks of chemotherarpy followed by a month of radiation treatment. Her current biopsies and mamograms show no cancer. She is doing remarkably well and her hair is growing back, albeit slowly. Lauren and her family are doing well in Port Orchard. She is able to work remotely but still has to travel quite a lot. Ben is a junior at South Kitsap High School, participates in NJROTC, is on the swimming and water polo teams. He also taking classes at Olympic College. Ethan is seven, second grade and also participates on a swim team.. Kevin still lives in Medford and just turned 50. Theo is nineteen and working to join the US Army . Megan is fifteen and they live with their Mom in Eugene. Anna is living in Albany, Oregon and is a district manager for a fast food chain. In June 2024 we took two week cruise to various ports in the Baltic Sea. In June 2023 we traveled to Scotland and Germany. This was the longest trip we have ever taken.
