Hunkered Down in Bremerton

The Last Prisoners at Gitmo

In 2018 Future Former-President Trump signed an executive order keeping the Guantanamo Bay detention camp open indefinitely. It is altogether fitting and proper that when Trump and his appointees are indicted in federal courts, that they be transfered pending trial and remain during their trial at Camp Delta ... Gitmo. After they are convicted and sentenced they should remain there. Trump and Barr are exactly they types of crusaders against the United States Constitution for which a facility like this was created. It will be fun to see to Amnesty International being on the same side as Sean Hanity for once. No cell phones, no Wifi, no Twitter. few visitors.

Trump has kept around 40 prisoners, mainly those captured in Iraq and Afghanistan during the GHW Bush administration. They are not prisoners of war. They are being held without trial, without rights, without hope. President Obama was aghast that such a barbaric place still existed under the control of the U.S. Military. Trump has thought that it was a great idea. Those America haters deserve it.

This will be a big advantage for Trump also. While at Gitmo he will be outside the jurisdiction all state courts. Local District Attorneys, State's Attorneys General, and various plantiff's Attorneys will not be able serve papers or perform arrests while he is there. The plantiffs, the states, and the local jurisdictions will just have to wait it out. But the vaious statutes of limitations will not apply. Trump will remain indicted and will remain as defendent in various law suits. He will merely be outside the jurisdictions of state and local courts. Those trials can wait for his release.

Meanwhile, President Biden will be free to hold trials for or to release or transfer the detainees from the terrorist groups. The can be released through the gates into Cuba or parachutted into North Korea. When that finally happens another sad chapter of American history will end and Trump will be the last prisoner at Guatanamo Bay.
