What the Hell is going on in Washington. It doesn't matter to those of us outside the Beltway whether this is a Lame Duck or Transition period of government. We need a functioning government and we need it now. We are going through a true crisis. Bad things are happening to us and you are the problem. By you I mean Trump. By you I mean the Republicans in Congress. By you I mean the Democrats in Congress. I mean all of you.

Even with a vaccine on the near horizon, Covid 19 is completely out of control. Where is the leadership in Washington?

In a "best case scenario" with a huge vaccination effort, things won't be getting back to anywhere near a new normal in the next six to twelve months. Do you really expect a "best case scenario". The federal government has completely botched the response to the pandemic so far. How optimistic can we be that the distribution and innoculation of the vaccines will be handled any better. The Pfizer vaccine must be stored at -90 degress fahrenheit and is said to have a shelf life of two weeks. Tens of millions of doses may expire will likely expire before thay can be injected. The federal plan is to ship the vaccines to the states..That is it. The states are now virtually bankrupt from dealing with the pandemic with no help from the federal government. Yoo Hoo.. Trump, where is the money to provide the innoculations?

Millions of Americans are unemployed because of the pandemic. For many, their unemployment benefits run out in mid-December. The states don't have the money to continue these programs. They can't run deficits, they can't print money. Only the federal government can provide the funding. Yoo Hoo.. Mitch McConnell.. What legislation has the Senate enacted recently to help?

Funding for the federal government is done by continuing resolutions. The Constitution requires a budget. There hasn't been one in years. Current funding runs out on December 12. As the deadlock continues as there is no leadership in settling this crisis in Washington, much of the federal government may shut down. Yoo Hoo.. Nancy Pelosi .. Has the House of Representitives passed a budget or at least a continuing resolution.

Although I voted for Biden, On these issues I don't care who the president is. I don't care if the Republicans or the Democrats control the houses of Congress. I don't care if the conservatives prevail and what ever is passed is "bare bones" and missing some things that the progressives favor. I don't care if the progressives prevail and every "cockamamie" idea is funded. I don't care if government spending far exceeds revenue. Get someting done... Get some relief into the federal government, the state governments and most of all to the people of this Great America. Goddamit I'm angry and I'm fed up.

Things were bad in Washington in 2001. Things are worse now. I have often thought that the worst thing that happened on 9/11 (an not to deny the extreme bravery of the passengers) was that United Airline Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania. Maybe things would be better now if it had crashed into the Capitol building.
