Harris to Choose Next President?

The soon-to-be-indicted former President Trump is insisting that former Vice-President Pence had the legal ability (and duty) to reject the votes of various state electors and swing the election to Trump. Many Republicans concur. To many others, this seems to be ridiculous. But think about it... Pence could have done it, and clearly didn't. If he was wrong that he couldn't do it... that means that in January 2025 current Vice-President Kamala Harris can do the same, and with impunity.

Regardless of who receives the most votes during the 2024 election, the same accusations of voter and election fraud will be able to be made. Many people think that the claims made regarding the 2020 election were baseless. However, if Vice-President Harris announces that these claims were valid, she can honor the electors that she choose to honor... count the votes that she chooses to count. That's the way it works in Trump's and the Republican's lala land. In their eyes this should serve to further their principals of democracy. They would have no realistic basis for complaint. What a wonderful world it would be.

Of course it's not such a wonderful world. The Republicans would raise holy hell. The Democrats would remain smug. It would certainly and quickly be taken to the Supreme Court for them to decide. But would a conservative leaning court intervene in the workings of the Legislative and Executive branches in light of everyone seeming to be in agreement based upon their actions not words . Who knows?

I can't imagine that a majority of the country want to go back to a Trump presidency and I agree with those critical of President Biden. However, the thought of another Trump presidency is so repugnent to many people that the idea of the Vice-President choosing which electors to select is not that unthinkable.
